Dear Friends & Family,  

We are Andrew Bryan and Nicolas Hambalek, and we are Team Panthers Cure Cancer. 

As our family and friends, you know the firsthand battles we fought against cancer. Those three words, “You have cancer” changed our lives forever. In 2018, Nicolas battled Hodgkin Lymphoma, and the year prior, Andrew Bryan’s dad fought his battle against the very same disease.  

All of us personally know the awful toll cancer takes - physically, emotionally, and financially.  It’s hard to comprehend how this disease can still be affecting one out of every three people today, and that most will be impacted directly by cancer at some point in their lifetimes. Thankfully, our families had the love and support of family and friends like you. And thankfully, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society also supports countless families. LLS funds new drugs to treat leukemia, lymphoma, and other forms of cancer and locally, LLS helps families directly when their insurance is lacking or by making connections with needed services, like rides to treatment, counseling, and other social services. The life-changing experience of our families battling cancer also inspired our commitment to finding a cure. 

We are excited to share with you that we have accepted the nomination to participate in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Student Visionaries of the Year program. We teamed up to form Panthers Cure Cancer.  Student Visionaries of the Year is a seven-week philanthropic competition for high school leaders seeking to impact the fight against cancer. We are fortunate to participate in this competition alongside an outstanding group of fellow students from throughout the Central Valley. More importantly, we are proud to be part of a cause to save lives and to help bring an end to cancer. 

Our campaign officially kicks off on March 2, 2023. We are reaching out to all our family and friends to ask for their support. Your contributions will help our team, but more importantly, your support will help LLS fuel advancements in life-saving research that will impact generations for years to come. We believe it takes a team to make a unique and lasting impact, and we are so glad you are a part of ours.
